“He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.” (Mark 3:14-15)
In Mark 3, Jesus climbs a mountain to choose twelve men to stand close to him. He calls them first to be with him, and from that closeness comes their sending. That order still shapes his Church: we are gathered before we are sent. Formed by his presence, we then carry his name into the world. He builds his people on nearness, and nearness makes them bold to serve the hurting. His family is defined by doing the will of God together, under one King. So stay close today, and let his sending follow his presence.
Prayer: King Jesus, keep us near you, and send your Church out in love. Amen.
