“Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10:39 (NIV)
Jesus sent out the Twelve and named the cost: no money bag, no extra tunic, rejection in some towns, welcome in others. Most of us plan the opposite way, guarding our comfort, our plans, our reputation, and calling it wisdom. Jesus turns the logic around. Grip your life tight and it slips through your fingers. Pour it out for His sake and you find it at last. He watches over sparrows and counts every hair on your head. The One who sends us is kinder than any road He asks us to walk. The safest place is wherever He leads.
Prayer: Lord, loosen my hold on the life I keep trying to save, and teach me to spend it on what lasts. Amen.
