Daily Devotional: Mark 6

“Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.” (Mark 6:7)

In his hometown, familiarity closed ears to his teaching, and Jesus was dismissed. The King gathered his twelve, gave them his authority, and sent them out in pairs to preach, heal, and set people free. His reign spreads through ordinary people sent together, carrying his name into homes and villages. No one went alone, and no one went empty-handed. The Church still lives under that sending today. When you speak a word of grace to a neighbor, a coworker, or a stranger, you walk in the King’s authority, beside brothers and sisters he has given you.

Prayer: King Jesus, send us as you sent them. Give us courage to speak and grace to serve, and do not let us walk alone. Amen.
