“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
John the Baptist sat in prison asking out loud: are you really the One? Jesus did not rebuke him. He pointed to what the Father was doing. Faith is not the absence of questions; it is knowing where to take them.
Then Jesus opened his arms and said simply: come to me. He calls the tired and the overloaded, not the strong. His yoke is easy and his burden light, because he carries the weight alongside us.
What are you carrying today that he never asked you to carry? Bring it to him, simply and honestly, and let him give you the rest you cannot earn.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to you weary and burdened. Teach me your gentleness and give rest to my soul. Amen.
