“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.” (Matthew 12:20-21)

When the Pharisees plotted to kill Him, Jesus withdrew. He didn’t quarrel or raise His voice in the streets. Matthew recognized Isaiah’s Servant: gentle with the fragile. His gentleness brings justice to victory, and the bruised of every nation can hope in His name. The world snaps what is weak, but Jesus will not break you or snuff you out. If you feel bruised and barely burning, bring Him your fragility. He sends us the same way: carrying hope to the bruised, without quarreling, until justice wins.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, gentle Servant, I come to You bruised. Restore me, and teach me Your gentleness. Amen.
