“Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:9)
In the temple courts, children’s voices took up the same cry: Hosanna to the Son of David. The chief priests were indignant and demanded that Jesus silence them. His answer: have you never read that God calls forth praise from the lips of children? Praise is faith going public. The smallest voices understood what the scholars missed: this gentle King on a donkey was worth a shout. Let your praise be louder than your doubts. Say it out loud today: blessed is he who comes.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive my quiet. Put your praise on my lips and make my life say what the children in the temple said: Hosanna. Amen.
