“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)
Jesus’ longest teaching ends with a mission, not a timetable. We read its wars, famines, and false prophets as a code to crack. Jesus points another way: the sure sign of the end is the gospel preached to every nation. History moves toward a harvest, and carrying the gospel there is the church’s task. So we do not await the end in fear; we work toward it in hope. Watchfulness is witness. The King is coming; until then, his people carry his good news to the nations.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, while we wait for your return, make us faithful witnesses of your kingdom. Give us courage and compassion to carry the gospel to every nation. Amen.
