“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

On a Galilean hillside, Jesus described His kingdom’s citizens before giving them any mission. Salt preserves; light reveals. Jesus does not tell us to become the light — He declares we already are, because He lives in us. Our light shines not through noise, but through faithful good deeds in a dark world. The goal is never our glory; every act of love points upward to the Father. When we forgive, serve the overlooked, and love our enemies, people see what they cannot explain — and heaven gets the credit. This is the mission: faithfulness with extraordinary visibility.

Prayer: Lord, make us salt and light in a decaying world. Let our lives point to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
