“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
Jesus teaches us to pray, give, and fast in secret — before the Father who sees and rewards. The Lord’s Prayer puts His name, His kingdom, and His will before our daily bread. Then He meets our anxious hearts: earthly treasures rust, but treasure in heaven is secure. Where our treasure is, there our heart follows. So He commands the impossible: do not worry about tomorrow. The birds are fed, the lilies clothed — how much more will your Father care for you? Seek the kingdom first, and the Father will add the rest.
Prayer: Father, teach me to trust You with my needs as I trust You with my soul. Let my heart treasure what lasts. In Jesus’ name, amen.
