“Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’” (Mark 11:17)
Jesus entered Jerusalem as King, then cleared the temple courts. The outer court was for the nations to pray, but merchants filled it with tables and noise. A King guards his Father’s house and opens it wide. His Church is that house now, a people from every nation gathered to pray and to welcome the outsider. So we ask what has crowded prayer from our lives. The King who cleared the temple still makes room in us, and sends us to welcome others.
Prayer: King Jesus, clear what crowds you from our hearts. Make your Church a house of prayer for all nations, with open doors for the stranger among us. Amen.
