“When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, ‘Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.'” — Matthew 8:10 (NIV)

A Roman centurion — a Gentile outsider — saw what Israel missed: Jesus’ word carries absolute authority. He did not need Jesus to come to his house; one word would be enough. Jesus marveled not at a scholar’s theology, but at the simple trust of a man who knew authority. Faith like this does not analyze from a distance — it bows and expects. The same Jesus who calmed the storm still honors that trust today. He asks only for a heart that takes Him at His word. Bring Him your need — then rest in His answer.

Prayer: Lord, give me the centurion’s faith — bold to ask, humble to trust. Amen.
